Q1:What is the OH (overhaul)?: A1: The OH (overhaul) is separate and clean every part of watch. While using the mechanical watch, it is necessary to replace worn parts, accumulation of dirt on the machine inside, lack of lubricating oil, etc. Therefore, we are recommended to overhaul the new watch once every 4 to 5 years and once every 2 to 3 years for vintage watch.

Q2: How long will it take to restock watch after an order?: A2: It depends on the model, we can't tell how long it will take. Usually it takes about one or two weeks, sometimes over 1month. We will inform you as soon as we found the watch. Please also kindly note that sometimes we can never stock in due to the lack of the model in the market.

Q3: Does Jackroad have only one store?: A3: Yes, we only have one shop in NAKANO, no other stores.

Q4: If I ask a friend to buy watches for me, what do we need to show you?: A4: Please inform us your friend's name, phone number and his passport number in advance.For tax refund, we need your friend to show us his passport with short stay visa(less than 6months).

Q5: Is there any other discounts besides tax free.: A5: Because Jackroad's price is much lower than the offical price, and we are always trying to offer the best price, so there is no any other discounts.

Q6: If I buy many watches at one time, can I get any gift?: A6: Because each watch is provided at the best price we can offer, so no matter how many you will purchase, there is no more discount. Also we don't have any gift, thank you for your understanding.

Q7: If I am interested in two watches, but I will only buy one of them, can I keep both of them at the same time?: A7: We are so sorry that if you only want to buy one watch, we can only keep one for you.

Q8: Can I assign the serial number when I order watch?: A8: We are sorry that we can't know any information before we find the watch.

Q9: I am a traveler, and my passport is kept by my guide, so can I use a copy of my passport to do tax refund?: A9: We are so sorry that you need to take your passport here to do tax refund. Please ask your guide for your passport.

Q10: Does Jackroad's watch has international warranty?: A10: Yes, we have full accessories of watch, which is the same as you buy it in a regular shop.

Q11: Can I use credit card? Will there be any extra charge?: A11: You can use credit cards and Unionpay card, and there is no extra charge.

Q12: How long can I reserve a watch?: A12: We can keep a watch for free for 1 week，10% deposit for more than one week, a fully advanced payment for more than one month.
Please note that we can only keep the watch for 2 months at most. And the deposit will not be returned even if you cancel the order.（After the tax exemption amount, to the store if you can not apply for tax exemption, you need pay the tax differences ） Please make sure of it.

Q13: What is Parallel Importing?: A13: For example, about Rolex, all productions are completed in Geneva, Switzerland. Then it will be shipped to authorized dealers around the world with the assigned amount for each country .The product which was shipped to the regular stores by this route, is the so-called "Regular Goods ". In Japan, in order to prove it is a regular item, there will be a seal of "Japan Rolex" pasted on the back case of the watch. They also offering "Japan Rolex Warranty" insteard of the "World Guarantee (international warranty card)"which originally issued by Rolex headquarters. On the other hand, product which was made purchases directly from an authorized dealer from overseas, is called "Parallel Goods".
Dealers in each country has a responsibility of domestic sales which mandated by the manufacturer. Therefore, it is necessary to prove the product has been sold and the international warranty card should have including the date when paralle stores made purchases. (Of course, there could be a case of open-guarantee which remains total blank on the guarentty card, but it is rare.) This is the reason why the date of the international warranty card, sometimes is ahead of the actual purchase date. In a word, the international warranty card of the paralle items can be considered as a regular Rolex certificate. As you can see, except the route of importing, the items exactly are the same.
Regarding to A/S, both regular and paralle items can accept the same services from the Rolex stores all over the world. Please buy with confidence. In addition, generally both regular and parallel items are having 2-year warranty of manufacturer from the purchase date (which the warranty is only limited to the nature fault of internal machinery). But since the items purchased at our store, can enjoy the 3-year warranty from the date of purchase(It is for the case of new items. For the used ones, the period of warranty is from 6 months to 1 year, depends on the price.) , you can be more secure.

Q14: Why are parallel imported goods cheap?: A14: All manufacturer's watches which has the authorized dealer shop in Japan are being setted a "Japan regular price". This "regular price" is including expenses such as publicity activities and A/S services in Japan, and also profits of authorized dealers. Authorized dealers are obliged to sell them by this particular price. Depending on country, the price setting is somewhat different, but basically is sold at similar price in all over the world.
For this reason, even if customers are purchased at overseas regular shops, it is not that much cheaper than domestic regular prices besides free from taxes. In this case, parallel import stores like us, are purchasing a lot of watches regularly and consistently, which makes us able to purchase at a "wholesale price". Since there is no restrictions for setting regular price of parallel imported goods, the price is only depends on how much profit does paralle shop going to earn. Just as simple as that. In order to be more satisfied by our customers, we are trying our best to minimize the profit. That would be the one and only reason why it is cheap.

Q15: Is it possible to change the bracelet to the leather belt (or opposite case)?: A15: It depends on the model. Generally the model has both bracelet and leather belt watches is the belt changeable model. For example, the IWC [Mark XV]. However, the rolex Cosmograph Daytona is NOT changeable, because the size of the lag is slightly different. Above all, we have to answer the customer whether the model is changeable or not model by model. Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.

Q16:Do you provide the belt adjust service after purchsing the watch in the store?: A16: If you want, belt adjust service is enjoyable after purchsing the watch in the store. Please tell the staff about your requirment, we will adjust the size until you satify. The belt adjustment usually costs 10 to 20 minutes.

Q17:Are the accessories of the goods important?: A17: The buying price or the trade-in price are affected by the the box and warranty card. The prices are higher if the watch with full set of accessories (box and warranty card). For this reason, we recommend the customer to keep the accessories.

Q18:Can we order the original belt?: A18: We are very sorry to tell you that the order ot original belt is not acceptable. Please contact the authorized store directly.

Q19:Can I try the watch when I visit the store?: A19: Of course. Since the products cost a large amount of money, we help the customers check the products carefully and we answer their any concerns.

Q20:The watermark of crown on the Rolex crystal.: A20: Actually ,the customers ask the watermark of crown on the Rolex crystal most. The watermark of crown is marked on the crystal and that mark is located around 6 o’ clock. Since the watermark is very small, it is difficult to find. And some exception models exist that there is not the watermark.

Q21:What is the definition of vintage watch in your store?: A21: The products that were produced 100 years ago are called vintage generally. However, the definition of the vintage watch is relatively ambiguous. In most cases, the vintage watch is the second hand. It means that the watch is used by some people and that watch is not a new one. In our store, the vintage watches are the second hand watch and either it is no longer in production over 10 years or the watch crystal is plastic or with other conditions. Absolutely, there is the exception. For example, the watch is no longer in production or the watch has plastic crystal but it is divided as the used watch rather than vintage.

Q22:Can we feel relieved about using the second hand watch?: A22: Each of the second hand watches in our store are maintained by the technician. The watch are sent to accept the overhaul if necessary. The parts of the watch is changed to the new parts if the change is necessary. The watches are displayed in the store after the above maintenance. Of course, we apply the Jackroad warranty.

Q23:How do we judge the produced year of the rolex watch?: A23: Generally, the serial number is obvious if you remove the bracelet from the body. Or the serial number of rolex watch is carved outside of the dial around 6 o’ clock that you may check it simply. The serial number includes the produced year information that is provied by rolex company. We use both serial number and the information provied by rolex to judge the produced year.

Q24:What is the meaning of Automatic winding and Hand winding?: A24: Automatic winding is a mechanical watch in which the mainspring is wound automatically as a result of the natural motion of the wearer to provide energy to run the watch. Mostly of Rolex is a automatic winding watch. If you wear more than 8 hours a day, it will run for 1 day to 2 days. When the time passes, the watch will be stop. In that case, you need to set the time before wearing. Besides automatic winding watch, there are battery-driven quartz watch and wind the crown for hand-winding watch.

Q25:What is daily rate?: A25: All watches tend to gain or lose a few seconds depending on environment and attitude difference. Generally, the different in time occurring during one day (24 hours) is called "daily rate". Mechanical watch such as automatic winding watch and hand-winding watch is allowed to vary ±15 seconds per day. On the other hand, it is common for quartz watch to produce an error of about ± 15 seconds in a month called "monthly rate" not "daily rate".

Q26:What is the waterproof performance of the watch?: A26: A watch marked from 30 metres to 50 metres water resistant is suitable for everyday use such as splash/rain resistant. However, it is not suitable for showering, heavy rain. Even if, a watch marked over 100 metres water pressure may exceed waterproof performance depending on use. If it is not diver's watches, we are recommended to avoid hard use in the water field.

Q27:How accurate are vintage clocks?: A27: The accuracy of vintage watch is lower compared with the current model. It is depends on model and conditions. In generally, a watch may gain 30 seconds a day for daily rate. (Depending on the model, there may be about 2 minutes for daily rate.) If you have any questions, please kindly to contact us.
